There is always something about older women that I just cannot comprehend.
It all started on the MRT train.....
Try to imagine.
There are two empty seats on the MRT train; one is the reserved seat while other were two seats away from the first. The train stopped at Kranji, and the first lady (Auntie) rushed in and search frantically for a seat. She spotted the two empty seats and literally ran over to that corner. While she was debating on which seat to occupy, another lady (auntie) came and occupied the seat that was sandwiched between two persons quickly. The first auntie finally decided not to seat on the reserved seat and started to move backwards to that other seat. This auntie actually sat on the other auntie, who is already seated! Embarrassed, that auntie stood up and went to the reserved seat. At that point of time another auntie pushing a red colour shopping trolley also wanted to occupy the reserved seat. You should have seen the anxious and “kiasu” look on their faces. In the end, the first auntie got her seat. The funny thing is the auntie with the red shopping trolley actually stared intensely at the women who stole her seat and the women who got the seat had triumph glowing in her eyes. Weird!
As the saying goes evil people will get their retribution. The old man who sat between the two aunties is actually having some problem in the brain. What I could call ‘Ji ko bei’. He started talking strangely to the two aunties. It scared the hell out of them. You have to pity them as the journey from Kranji and Yew Tee was pretty long, so there torture was prolonged. Upon reaching Yew Tee MRT station, both of the aunties seated got up and decided to stand throughout their journey and the auntie with the red shopping trolley alighted the train. Funny?
Personally, I think it was entertaining to watch but it doesn’t reflect well on us as Singaporeans. Plus I hope when I grow old, I don’t become like one of those aunties who fight for seats but a gracious and pretty one!^^
