Youth camp '09: DAY1 Thursday, October 15, 2009 4:34 PM
Warning: This post will be super duper long as I will be combining all 4 days of youth camp in one post. (Because I lazy)This was the first youth camp I been too. Sadly to say so because for the past 3 years, my band camp always clashes with the youth camp. Grateful to be out of my CCA, I was able to attend this year’s camp. Hooray!
On the first day camp (10/12), I came late as I just touch down at 12 plus.

I feared that my group members would detest me as I would be one irresponsible leader.
However, when I arrived my group members welcomed me with open arms to the camp.
I was surprised, in a good way.
A good start makes the camp an enjoyable one, it works for me.
I rushed to attend the camp, latest by dinner, was because I wanted to hear Pastor Adrin preached. I heard his sermons in the main service and I could understand clearly. It is also a blessing to hear God’s word as I haven’t been doing my daily bread (unfortunately).
The session was about FRIENDS. It is definitely a good reminder for me as I just have my own facebook and twitter account so it is like God’s warning to me on how I should be aware of the friends met over the net and the importance of real true friends. Thank God for his instructions and advice.

Later that night, we played the game ‘WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS’. It is a game where we had to build a skyscraper about 1.5m tall with cardboards, bottles and other items that could withstand water and wind.
My group’s skyscraper have a distorted look: a triangle roof with toilet roll as the chimney and satay stick as the antenna. My group decided to stuff a lot of newspaper at the bottom in a cardboard box and exposed it so that when the water is pour it would add weight and thus lower the centre of gravity.
Worked like a charm.
Well, the tower did not topple during the test and it could not be more or less done without the help of Josiah, a committee member attached to my group, as he always tries to find a fault in our structure. Well, I have a verse in mind.

Proverbs 12:15-16
The way of a fool seems right to him but a wise men listens to advice.
A fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent man overlooks an insult.

Well, my group was no fool and listen to advice to make improvements.

Before I forget to tell you my group name is Tushiyah(pronounced “too-shee-yaw”)—sound wisdom. So go Tushiyah!I had to tough time trying to pronounce my group’s name and at times just calling Tushi, sushi or yo. Practice made perfect, I can now pronounce it correctly. TUSHIYAH!!!!Through the first night, I got to know Belicia, she is a petite and cute girl that learns drama, so for talent night she could be a great help!
