Part 2 of being sick Monday, January 25, 2010 10:51 AM
Okay, I know I haven’t been posting for a while. It is because I was too tried and there is really nothing much to post about when one is sick. Anyway, I am doing it now. Haha. Okay, after my fever went down, I had a really sore oesophagus. It is not sore throat as I could still talk at a normal voice and no flam. It is more of like have ulcers at the back of the mouth, the beginning of the oesophagus. The ulcers there make it EXTREMLY difficult and PAINFUL to swallow. I sometimes feel like drinking a whole bottle of lubricant to soothe the pain, however I know it will not work as it is like having open wounds in the throat. Now, I feel more of like marching down to the doctor to get my mouth numb so that I will not feel any pain. Pure torture. Eating porridge is also a difficult task. Having sleepless nights is hard to avoid as who don’t swallow when they sleep? So I find myself waking up because swallowing saliva was so painful. That is how I get my eye bags back. Despite the pain, I could actually eat like rice and meat which I think is so much harder and rougher. Well, it was painful but bear with it—my current motto. Bear with it. Sometimes the pain is so overwhelming that I cry while eating. Haiz…. I mean who will get ulcers at the back of the mouth? Looks like I am the “lucky” one. I was thinking if I were to vomit (touch wood, touch wood), then it will be extremely painful. Imagine the acid from the stomach will make the ulcer so much bigger and painful. So “heng” my alimentary canal is still in good shape—except my throat. The only method that I found it useful is to gurgler with salt water. I was thinking I should go to the beach and it using seawater. I love salt! Medicines come in pill form and have to be swallowed. So Now I understand why people say eating medicine can be a torture.
