One day before CNY Saturday, February 13, 2010 9:29 PM
Today is one day before Chinese New Year.
I had my reunion dinner yesterday night as my aunt is not free today.
I realized the older one get, the longer one stay at the table.
There was raw fish, squid, prawn, abalone, pork, pork liver and the list goes on. So now you understand why the younger ones try to eat quickly so that they could run away.
I do not fancy seafood and liver.
So all I eat will be the fishball and crabstick.
But I make an effort to eat the fish, prawn, abalone and the scallop coated with thick layer of Soya sauce.
Haha.
I am so weird.
However, despite the food serve is not my favourite dish, I enjoy the company.
I like to be surrounded by my grandparents, parents and my anuts and uncles.
Nothing better then to have one whole family sitting together to eat and not one person sitting in front of the television eating.
Who knows how long the people sitting around the table, eating steamboat with me, during the reunion dinner will be alive? I
am not taking my chances.
I know life is very fragile, one day you are here and the next you are gone.
I am really fortunate to know a God who controls my life, so I have no fear of death.
I am not saying that I am tried of living but with God in my life, I am never tried, as God loves me!
(Dear readers, he too loves you a lot!!!)

Why am I talking about death in this time?

Lunar NEW year.
Okay, say about good stuff.
I love Chinese New Year!

I love the goodies that I will be served at every house and the extra cash that will be given in the hong baos.
I like to quote Joel (from LPPC), PINEAPPLE TARTS = HEAVEN.
Not really like heaven but pineapple tarts is the one most looked forward CNY goodies.

Yummy, the thought of pineapple tarts makes me drool and cannot wait for tomorrow to come.

Another reason for me to look forward to tomorrow is that I will have to take some photos to impress the Photographic Society seniors so that they will confirm my membership into the club. I really hope to get in with all my besties who is in AJC.

Having saying my school name, I remember the cyber wellness talk I went for in school yesterday.
I have a point to make, there is only ONE reason I blog.
Reason one is to improve my English. Trust me, my English wasn’t like this when I first blog, it was horrible. While I blog, I am able to exercise my command of language.

I know that I have to be careful in what I post.
This is related to what I learnt in Church about the tongue therapy.
The tongue though small is like a spiritual arsenal; it can cause large forest fires (quarrels and fights).
Nowadays, the way people talk is via typing on the net.
So praying everyday that I will be able to control this small part of my body, as only God have the ability to do that.
Awesome God, right?
During the youth camp, I learnt that whenever I blog or comment on any other networking website like facebook or twitter, I always remind myself to say things that build people’s reputation up and not destroy it.

Yesterday, there was the CNY celebration.
I have to commend the school because they managed to squeeze the two levels in the school hall. During the orientation, when the JC1s settle in the hall, the hall is almost filled.

So I was rather surprised that they could fit both levels together though the sitting area was pretty cramp.
The program lined up during the celebration was pretty entertaining.
Maybe it is because I never seen and listened to a harmonica band and a dance item put up by the Malay, Tamil and modern dance group.
I am always amazed at the way the Malay dancers move, so much grace and poise.
Grace and poise, which is something that I am lack of.
I am grateful that my secondary school has dance lessons during the curriculum.
Well, though the lessons were boring but it helps me to further appreciate the different race’s dances.

I realized that one have to place in a different type of environment to fully appreciate the current situation one is in.
Let me elaborate.
Being a Singaporean, only when I am in the grounds on another country, I feel that Singapore is better and a place that is home.
Being able to help a foreigner translate the Chinese characters on the banner makes me very proud to be able to excel in Chinese.

The MC was rather funny in their conversation.

I finally remembered who was that guy who said my full name at Bedok MRT station on the college CIP day.
HELLO primary school friend and tablemate whom me I never met in like 4 years.
Sorry for giving the “Huh? Who you?” look.
Opps, blame it on my failing memory.
This is really one long post.
Now it is a command: “Go look at some trees or greenery!”

Love
