Synod youth games day!!! Saturday, February 20, 2010 11:37 PM
Synod Youth Games Day!!!! Some of you may ask, what is that? Well, it is basically a games day, which involves the youths of all the Presbyterian churches. This may give you a clue to which church I belong to. Okay, anyway, praise the Lord that the event was held in the afternoon and I was able to have enough time to move from my piano lesson to my church. Yeah! My main motive to participate in this event was to meet more youths who believe in Christ. It is some form of encouragement to see so many believers and I will not feel like I am the only one believing. Since I have the home ground privilege, the event is held in my church, I had to help out in distributing the tee shirts to those who attended the event. It is rather exciting to carry out that job as I get to meet and interact with people from other churches. I realized some churches have church tee-shirts. SO COOL!!! I also want! The youths from my church came in all different colours, not very easy to recognize. Anyway, the only event I join was the captain’s ball--my all time favourite. Even though captain’s ball maybe a game that is played frequently, however I never get bored of playing it is the only game that I know that can bring people together. I was pulled into the senior’s team as there is lack of girls(minimum 3 girls in each team). So playing with the seniors, I suddenly feel so young. The other members of my team comprises of people who exercise on a one-time-off-basis, in other words not so fit. Their main goal was more of to lost calories, which is something that I would like to achieve too. The other teams that I played against were pretty strong as they are sports people and they have chemistry, due the fact that they often play with each other. Then, on the other hand, I felt so old when I played in the junior team. Why junior? As the games drag over the planned end time, so some of the players in the junior team had to go home, so there was a lack of players. The main idea is I felt so old. The junior team were very strong as there are sports people in the team however the team did not managed to obtain a medal. It’s okay guys! As long we have fun, it is worth the time.
I would like to end off with the fact that through games we could see the difference between Christians and non-Christians, as it show the true character of oneself. James 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
It is just a game. There is no need to get angry over losing. As in God’s eyes. Nobody is a loser. Love Mic3helle
